DCCCA Research/Evaluation Services was established in the late 1980’s to provide federal, state and local agencies with support in evaluating program effectiveness.   Contracting agencies have included the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Addiction and Prevention Services, the Kansas Department of Education, The Kansas Department of Transportation/Bureau of Traffic Safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Kansas Department of Corrections, the State of Florida, The Northern Cheyenne Tribe of Lame Deer, Montana, the City of Lawrence, the Kansas Highway Patrol, and a variety of other agencies and school districts.

Current projects include analyzing the quarterly outcomes for all of DCCCA’s addiction treatment programs.  In addition, as part of the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office contract, DCCCA Evaluation Services conducts the NHTSA-required State-Wide Direct Observation Safety Belt Survey, the State-Wide Direct Observation Child Passenger Safety Seat Survey, the evaluation of the annual “Click It or Ticket” campaign, two “Corridor” enhanced enforcement studies per year, the annual Kansas State Fair Traffic Safety Survey, and technical support for the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Traffic Safety.
