"I know that without Elm Acres and my counselor, we all may have been on the streets. We were closer than we realized."

Elm Acres Recovery Services

Elm Acres Recovery Services, a program of DCCCA, Inc., provides a continuum of substance abuse treatment options for adults and adolescents in southeast Kansas. Assessment, early intervention, alcohol and drug addiction education,
relapse prevention and on-going support for recovery are offered within intensive outpatient and outpatient programs.

The treatment interventions at Elm Acres are based on the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) best practices. A proven combination of Cognitive Behavioral techniques and basic Twelve Step philosophies merge into a curriculum that changes an individual’s way of acting, by changing the way they think, and then supporting those changes with encouraging involvement in community groups such as NA or AA. Interventions are complimented by service referrals for mental and physical health, and case management for housing, employment, parenting, and other assessed needs.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOT) is designed for individuals who are assessed as chemically dependent. Elm Acres currently offers IOT groups for adolescents at
our Pittsburg location, three hours a day, three days a week. Traditional outpatient groups, for those who abuse substances but who are not chemically dependent, are offered for adolescents
and adults. Individual outpatient treatment for both adolescent and adults may be scheduled between the hours of 9:00 a.m.
and 8:00 p.m.
Elm Acres staff have successful partnerships with area schools, court services, SRS offices, Regional Alcoholic and Drug Assessment Center (RADAC), foster care providers, and other community agencies. We have a proven track record of helping partners identify, assess and treat residents of southeast Kansas who have substance abuse concerns.
