Background:  DCCCA Inc. has a history of providing specialized services to offender populations in Kansas and Colorado with the underlying philosophy that correctional programming is effective and contributes to community safety.  DCCCA believes that by applying research-based practices, we can make a difference for our clients and help to reduce the associated costs of crime within the community. Critical to our program success are the partnerships we have formed with federal, state, and local correctional institutions as we work within their jurisdictions to provide offender programs. The following represents a current description of program activities within Kansas and Colorado as DCCCA reaches out to offender populations and works to make a difference.

Level III, IV Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment: Within the Colorado Department of Corrections, an assessment system that includes use of the ASUS and the LSI-R provide the clinical rationale for assigning inmates to specific modalities of substance abuse treatment. Level III and Level IV represent two levels of outpatient substance abuse treatment provided in Colorado correctional facilities. DCCCA staff are trained to provide the Colorado “Core Curriculum” and the “Strategies for Self Improvement and Change” programs in Level III and Level IV settings.

Sex Offender Treatment
Adult Sex Offender Treatment: DCCCA began providing sex offender treatment in 1991. Since that time, we have expanded services to institutional and community based treatment locations both in Kansas and Colorado. Sex offender treatment services provided by DCCCA are conducted in group settings utilizing cognitive-behavioral interventions. Also included in treatment is the use of polygraph and plethysmograph services to verify clinical information from and for the client. The program has no specified length, but rather uses state of the art psychometric instruments to determine the static and dynamic risk levels of each client.  Clients are then placed in one of three levels of treatment based on these scores. Once the client has entered Level III, the final level of treatment, they have demonstrated the appropriate use of behavioral interventions in their offending cycle which they learned during treatment.  In Colorado, DCCCA has been providing sex offender treatment services since 1999.
