Booster to Belts – this program is intended to be a fun, interactive way for teens to teach children (Kindergarten through 3rd grade) the importance of buckling up and using a booster seat.
DCCCA introduced the SAFE (Seatbelts Are For Everyone) program in Missouri in 2016. McDonald County High School in the Joplin area of Missouri signed up to be the first SAFE school in Missouri. The teen peer to peer program began with a seatbelt survey showing 68% of the students coming to school were wearing their seatbelts. After 6 months of education, reward and enforcement the final seatbelt rate increased to 75%.
