Thank you for your interest in volunteering with DCCCA! We have opportunities for volunteers to assist in various ways, depending on organizational needs at different times. DCCCA Volunteer Form

Volunteer examples may include-

General Support: Storage organization, Yard work, Office assistance (stuffing packets, address mailings, reception area coverage, etc.)

Client-Facing Volunteer Work: These roles require the completion of necessary background checks (Childcare, Behavioral Health group support, etc.)

Specific Event Support: Some events may require the completion of necessary background checks.

DCCCA Event Volunteer Opportunities
This event is for DCCCA foster families. Staff and volunteers work together to provide childcare and supervise children in the waterpark, allowing foster parents to attend training sessions. 
 
 
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and serves as a time to raise awareness about child abuse, promoting actions to protect children. Volunteers may assist with any necessary preparation for activities led by DCCCA. 
 
The second Tuesday of May is Foster Care Awareness Day and aims to raise awareness about the needs of children in foster care, as well as the efforts of foster parents/caregivers. Volunteers may assist with any necessary preparation leading up to the celebration in May. 

This event is to raise awareness around youth suicide prevention and mental health in Douglas County. Volunteers can help prepare for the race by stuffing bags for race attendees and assisting with packet pick up the days leading up before. They can also assist in various ways during the event, including festival setup/teardown, setting up the racecourse, directing and encouraging runners during the race, handing out water/snacks, and more.

This event appreciates DCCCA Child Welfare clients across the state. Volunteers can assist with setting up before the event.
This event brings together professional and community members to address the opioid and stimulant crisis. Volunteers can assist by stuffing conference bags and helping with additional event setup before the event.
 
 
Other DCCCA Volunteer Opportunities

Childcare – Child Welfare Support Group (Lawrence) – Depending on need, volunteers may assist by providing childcare during monthly foster family support groups. This opportunity is only available for our Lawrence location.

Community Mailings – Depending on need, volunteers may assist with stuffing and addressing suicide prevention monthly mailings to be sent out. 

Organizing Resources – Depending on need, volunteers may assist with restocking, organizing, and moving donations.

Yard Work – Depending on need, volunteers may assist with raking leaves, tidying the outside of buildings, or other miscellaneous tasks.

Front Desk Coverage – Depending on need, volunteers may assist with front desk coverage at different facilities. This may include answering phones, receiving packages, other front desk duties, etc.
