Improving Lives for 50 Years: An Evening of Celebration and Recognition

Improving Lives for 50 Years: An Evening of Celebration and Recognition is a DCCCA event to recognize our past, embrace our present, and empower our future. It was an opportunity to recognize outstanding partners for their dedication to DCCCA. Comedian and social media content creator Tiffany Jenkins was the featured speaker who shared her experiences of living in recovery. Jenkins is the creative force behind “Juggling the Jenkins” who uses her platform to inspire others that are struggling with motherhood, mental health, addiction and recovery to more than 9 million online followers.

Award Recognition

Bruce Beale Award – Honoring Dr. Dean and Judy Bevan for their exemplary spirit of DCCCA’s mission and legacy of improving lives through service to others. The award is named in honor of Bruce Beale, DCCCA’s first CEO, who dedicated nearly 40 years of faithful service to DCCCA.

Community Health & Safety Award – Presented to LiveWell Douglas County for their outstanding work to enhance the community’s safety, health, and wellness initiatives.

Champion of Recovery & Mental Health Advocacy Award – Awarded to Kimberly Freese, a dedicated advocate to promote recovery from substance use and mental health challenges.

Golden Heart Award – Given to DCCCA foster parents Ian and Nicole Freeman for their compassion, service, and commitment to providing exceptional devotion for children in their care.

DCCCA Service Award – Recognizes DCCCA employee Penny Baxter for dedicating more than 40 years of service to the agency.
