Kansas Opioid and Stimulant Conference returns in person to Topeka

The Kansas Opioid and Stimulant Conference is back for its 6th year as an in-person event on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Hotel Topeka. The conference provides participants the opportunity to learn more about the opioid and stimulant crisis in Kansas and engage in a proactive effort to build a collaborative response to help to prevent the escalation of this crisis in Kansas. This year the conference will have a track dedicated to the emerging issue surrounding the rise in stimulant morbidity and mortality.

“As a State, we must continue our coordinated approach to fight this debilitating, ever-evolving epidemic,” DCCCA CEO Lori Alvarado said. “This conference provides the most relevant information from experts in the field to ensure we have the best resources available to make an impact in our communities.”

Speakers in each session will discuss strategies regarding how to address the crisis through the different lenses of Prescribing, Prevention, Treatment & Recovery, Law Enforcement, and Intervention with unique voices of their professional experience.

The event is sponsored by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Beacon Health Options, CareSource, the Opioid Response Network, Holland Pathways, and Valley Hope.
