Welcome to Smart Riders!
DCCCA, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), is now providing schools with resources for students to become safer in numerous aspects on Missouri roadways through the Smart Riders program.
What it is:
Smart Riders is an interactive online program designed to educate elementary students and parents on ways to make our roads safer for everyone. The program promotes the importance of safety in vehicles and along the roadway.
- It is a 20-50 minute online curriculum with activities that encourages children about becoming a Smart Rider.
- Students can complete the modules alongside a parent/caregiver and will receive a certificate after completing each chapter.
Don’t have time for an in-person session? No problem! We can walk you through the steps to implement Smart Riders in the classroom or send educational materials for caregivers to engage with students at home.
Topics are:
- Smart Walker
- Smart Bicycling
- Booster and Seat Belt Safety
- Distracted Driving/Riding
Who can request a session:
- Teachers
